Our Educators

Hello, I’m Xandre Du Plessis, from Pretoria, Gauteng.
My journey into the world of nail artistry is quite an interesting one. In 2006 after being retrenched from the IT sector shortly after my marriage, I found myself stepping into an entirely new realm. My wife Jeanette needed help in her salon, and I decided to lend a hand. Despite my initial doubts about my artistic abilities, I enrolled in a nail course at NSI.
To my surprise, the training facilitator assumed that my wife had been teaching me, given the progress I was making. However, this was far from the truth. Jeanette was booked solid from 8am to 9pm each day with clients, leaving her with no time to teach me. Despite this, I managed to excel in my training and was awarded the prize for the Best Student.
Upon returning to our home salon, Jeanette, with her keen eye for detail, noted that I still had much to learn. She took me under her wing and mentored me for a further year, refining my skills and teaching me the intricacies of the craft.
In 2022, I became a Crystal Clawz Educator, further expanding my professional skills. This journey has been a testament to the fact that it’s never too late to learn something new, and with passion and dedication, one can excel in any field. I would love to show you how!
